New Lynsey-built Scattante Titanium Cyclocross Frame w/Reynolds Ouzo Pro Fork

New, never ridden Lynskey-Built Scattante Titanium Cyclocross / Gravel Frameset

Very rare, 99 of these frames were built by Lynskey and sold by Performance Bike under their house brand Scattante. Very unlikely that you’ll ever see another one of these at the races or on the trail. American welded titanium, with double butted and shaped tubing and curvey stays. 

Decals are easily removed if you’re not into the branding.

Very rare Reynolds’s Ouzo Pro Cross fork and Chris King headset are included. Stem is not included, it’s just there to hold the headset together.

Effective top tube is 59cm, and this fits somewhere between a 58 and a 59.

Vintage Alan Shorter Frameset, 59cm, Reynolds 531, 1970s Race Geometry

Fabulous vintage Alan Shorter road bike frame in very good condition. Frame was made in-house for Alan Shorter’s bike shop in London in the late 1970s. This bike has a 23-1/4” frame, measuring 59cm, center-to-top, with a 58cm top tube. It has a 40” (102cm) wheelbase, 16-1/2” (42cm) chain stays, clearance for 700cX32mm tires This bike’s frame was made from Reynolds 531 double butted chrome manganese tubing throughout  The frame has beautifully tapered lugs, forged dropouts, and is fully powder coated. A Shimano Deore LX alloy headset is included.

Alan Shorter ran a big bicycle shop in London. The frames were made for the Shorter concern by one of several skilled frame builders employed there. I had the frame sandblasted and powder coated,Alan Shorter decals are included in the sale.

I have ridden this frame with 16 derailleur speeds and a three-speed internal gear fixed gear (yes, the bottom bracket clearance is high enough to make a safe fixed gear conversion!). I have ridden it on the limestone cinder towpath of the Ohio and Erie Canal, and raced it, done a century on it and had no trouble keeping up with my club mates on their carbon fiber bikes on 20mph-average rides.

Jim Soens Vintage 1970s Touring Bike, Reynolds 531, Shimano Nexus 8-speed $349

Vintage Jim Soens bike, complete, set up for urban riding. Jim Soens was a frame builder and member of an extended Soens family all of whom ran a bicycle businesses in Liverpool, England in the 1950s to 1970s. This bike’s frame was made in the style of mid-century British path bikes, with relatively slack head and seat tube angles. When I got it, it had barely visible “Jim Soens” and “Reynolds 531 butted tubes, forks and stays” stickers. The original fork had been replaced by a low carbon steel fork, so replaced that with a chromoly fork.


This bike has a 24” frame, measuring 61cm, center-to-top, with a 57cm top tube. It has low bottom bracket at 27cm and its geometry is mode signed for comfort: 106cm wheelbase, 44.5cm chain stays, clearance for 700cX35mm tires. I believe that the frame was made for path riding, and although I have setbituomfor casual urban riding, it would be ideal for the current rage in gravel riding.

Without a doubt the most comfortable bike I have ever ridden, yet amazingly fast when I had it set up for racing.

Schwinn Super Sport Ladies Bike, Upgraded Vintage 70s Fillet Brazed Chromoly $249

Vintage Schwinn Super Sport ladies touring bike, complete, upgraded with much lighter parts and modern wheels. Step-through frame dimensions are: Seat tube is 19 inches (48 cm) center-to-top, and the effective top tube length is 22inches (56cm) center-to-center. Its geometry is definitely touring: 41 inch (104cm) wheelbase, 17.5 inch (44.5cm) chain stays The Super Sport frames were made from chromoly straight gauge tubing, fillet brazed by two sisters who specialized in fillet grazing in the Chicago Schwinn factory. These frames are renowned for their comfortable ride and ruggedness. 


Original steel parts upgraded to aluminum are: (1) one-piece steel crankset and bottom bracket replaced with an aluminum American-to-Euro adapter, Shimano UN-72 bottom bracket and Sugino GT alloy crankset with 48-36 tooth chainrings, (2) Huret steel rear derailleur replaced with Suntour Vx-S derailleur, (3) Steel seatpost replaced with Sr Laprade alloy micro adjusting post. (4) Steel stem shifters replaced with Suntour alloy friction down tube shifters. In addition, I rebuilt the wheels with 700c rims and butted stainless spokes, so you can choose from a plethora of modern tires. Paint is original, with few scratches, and all original decals are intact.


I custom built this for my wife, to maximize comfort and performance. She loved it.
