Upcycles Bike Shop Policies

​

1 year warranty parts and workmanship on our bikes, and overhauls.* 

  • The warranty includes minor adjustments for free: brake adjustments, shifting adjustments, wheel truing, drivetrain lubrication, and tire inflation.

  • This warranty does NOT include flat tires, and normal wear and tear of tires, brake pads, chain, gears, and pedals.

  • *This warranty does NOT include:

    • Damage due to improper or neglected routine maintenance,

    • Installation of components, parts, or accessories not originally intended for or compatible with the bicycle as sold,

    • Damage or failure due to accident, misuse, or abuse.

90 day warranty on all repairs.

Watson-built Wheels:

I guarantee Watson wheels against spoke breakage and going out of true for my lifetime (I am 64, after all, so I may not be able to fix your wheels for the rest of your life). If you break a spoke or your wheel goes out of true, just bring or ship it in, and I’ll fix it for free.  Brake wear, dents from potholes, wheels that are too light or have too few spokes for your weight and/or intended use, and wheels abused, crashed or crushed other than normal riding use are excluded.

 

Donations:

We are very grateful for your donation, but it is not tax-deductible.

 

Special Orders:

A non-refundable deposit 50% of parts and labor is required.

 

Lay-Away:

  • Deposit of 33%

  • Purchase must be paid in full in 90 days, ⅓ of the price each month.

  • No lay-away charge if you pay in full by 90 days.

  • We will try our best to contact you if you haven’t paid for more than a month. Please keep in touch with us, especially if your phone number has changed or your phone is off.

  • If more than 90 days go by since you have paid and we haven’t had contact with each other, you will lose your deposit and other payments.

 

Bike Storage:

  • We will try to contact you when the repair is done.

  • Free storage for 30 days after repair is complete.

  • After 30 days, we will add $1/day to your repair bill.

  • When the repair bill + storage fees = the value of the bike, we will sell the bike to offset our costs.

 

Returns:

  • If you buy a bike from us and return it in good condition, we will buy it back according the schedule below:

Upgrades:

  • If you decide to buy a more expensive bike within a month after buying a cheaper one from us, we will buy back your original bike according to the above schedule down to 50%.

Privacy:

  • We do not store or sell data from our website.
